If you’ve always played at a live, brick and mortar casino, you may be reluctant to make the switch to the online game. However, as more people enjoy online casino gaming, it is hard to avoid the reality that online casinos present a great alternative to live play.

In fact, many players believe it is far superior to live play. Here are some of the reasons to choose an online casino.

Online Casinos Are Convenient

When you play at an online casino, the casino is always open and ready to go whenever you want to play. There’s no need to get dressed and travel to a far off location, or to worry about when you have to get home. When you play at an online casino, you are home.

Online Casinos Are Cost Effective

There are many hidden expenses you take on when you go to a live casino. You need to pay for transportation to the casino, be it public transportation or gas for your car.

If you do drive, you may need to pay and tip a valet. You have to tip dealers and cocktail servers and possibly pay for overpriced food.

When you play online, you can remove these expenses. There are no dealers, cocktail servers or valets to tip, no need to travel or eat outside of the home. You have more money that you can use for play. They also offer different sign up bonuses.

Online Casinos Are Fast and Efficient

Game play at an online casino runs much more smoothly than at a live casino. In live casino games, there is a lot of waiting around.
You can find yourself waiting for dealers to color up or sell chips, waiting for shuffling to be completed and waiting for payouts to be calculated.

At an online casino, all these things happen instantly through the computer software, so there’s no time wasted. As soon as one hand finishes, the next hand can begin.

It’s not necessary to give up live casino play if you are going to try an online casino. However, many people find that once they’ve enjoyed the convenience of playing online, they prefer to stay at home and play rather than travel elsewhere.

Last week saw lots of high stakes cash game action on FullTilt. Dwan continued his losing streak and now has lost over $2 million in a little over two weeks. Gus Hansen on the other hand has picked up his game and is now over $700k in profit for the year. Much of that success was thanks to his session against Cole South who lost $575k to Hansen after playing more than 1,200-hand heads-up.

After winning more than $350k, mostly from Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies, South went to play a session against Hansen. He should have went to bed instead of going to play other games.

South lost five of the seven $80,000 capped pots in the $500/$1,000 game to Hansen, losing $575k in the process.

South was once at the top of the 2010 high-stakes profit leaderboard with over $3.3 million in earnings, but after this latest session he is now under the $700k mark on the year.

Four-card poker is a new poker style which is similar to 3-cards poker only that 4 cards are used instead of 3 (how surprising). It was invented by Roger Snow. There’s no dealer qualifying hand but he does get an extra card, so he (or she) could form the better hand at the table.
Game rules are simple: There are two starting bets available – Ante and Aces High. The dealer gets five cards faced down and one card facing up, while the rest of the players get 5 cards each. Players who are making the Ante bet can either fold or raise, they can’t call. If one folds he immediately forfeits the bets. A raise can vary between the Ante and three times that amount. After all players called or folded, they then discard one of their cards to remain with only 4.
The ranking of the hands is similar to Texas hold’em, only the straight draws (straight, straight flush and royal flush) are being demoted one spot. This means that four of a kind is the winner. The dealer has the next move as they turn their cards and choose the best four. If the dealer’s hand is better the player loses his or her Ante and raise. If it’s equal, the dealer than pays a 1:1 ratio, when a bonus is paid to a three of a kind and better hands.
Four-card poker is a casino game and not worthy of playing at home, since the dealer here plays a more than arbitrary role. If you like to play bingo then you will love four-card poker. Much like Pai Gow, this form of poker is a mixture of the traditional poker ranking system and other card games like blackjack and gin.

Similarly with online bingo, five-card draw isn’t a difficult game to master. Another similarity between the two games is that no matter how long you’ve been playing for, you always learn something new.
